Artemisia Gentileschi was a courageous and independent woman, a mother, and an artist, concepts that, in the 1600s, were almost impossible to reconcile. She broke through social conventions by becoming an independent artist. A brave woman, she transformed her painful experiences into strength and redemption. One could say she was a “feminist avant la lettre”, a free woman in a way that people of the 17th century could scarcely imagine.

The fragrance takes its name from the signature on one of her famous paintings. The green onyx cap recalls the ochre tones and burnt earth nuances of her renowned Self-Portrait as the Allegory of Painting, in which Artemisia portrays herself while painting. An unexpectedly sweet and feminine fragrance, it combines a bouquet of champaca, orange blossom, and candied sugar with surprising touches of ginger, creating a scent that is unmistakably feminine and full of personality.
