This fragrance transports us to “The Garden of Earthly Delights” by Hieronymus Bosch, displayed in the Prado Museum in Madrid.
This triptych is considered a masterpiece of surrealism because of its complex symbolism. Humanity is portrayed, according to medieval Christian teachings, with all its vices and perversions in a satirical representation of human sin. On the outer panels, visible only when the triptych is closed, God appears in the act of creation, with the world depicted as a transparent sphere. Once opened, the work reveals its extraordinary beauty.
The fragrance is inspired by the central panel, where pleasure and love are depicted: exotic animals symbolizing desire, crowds of naked figures, some surrendered to erotic indulgence, while others are fed by birds carrying cherries and strawberries in their beaks, fruits once believed to possess aphrodisiac properties. In the third panel, the scene transforms into a demonic concert where musical instruments become tools of suffering and punishment. An olfactory interpretation of the contrasts found throughout the triptych.
