Every year, in mid-July, a festival is held in the neighborhood where Antonio Alessandria was born. According to an old saying, this period is considered the hottest time of the year in the city. As a child, on the morning of the celebration, he would go with his father to the market to buy flowers. Back home, they would trim the stems and keep the flowers in a small shaded room. Later in the afternoon, when the festive procession passed through the streets, they would offer the flowers, throwing them from the balcony above. Many guests gathered in their home to celebrate the occasion and were welcomed with a refreshing glass of almond milk. Late into the evening, they waited together for the final fireworks display.

The penetrating scent of fireworks mingled with the fragrance of flowers kept cool in the shade while the sun blazed outside.
